All this while I've been assuming that Padini brands are imported brands...haha...they are actually made in Malaysia. The branding strategies are really good but one thing I hate bout Padini is they have sales everyday...might as well just put the price lower...maybe they are trying to attract passer-bys into the outlet...anyway this is a short explanation bout Padini.

one month-ed in DnA

...last day of work in DNA...nothing much to say actually...some parts make me feel happy to leave some parts make me feel like staying longer...haha...anyway i'll be back next time for sure...a beneficial one month spend here...Thnx to Min, Mingi n Suh Chee for everything(architects that i'm assigned to help thus learn from them) =>

No more working mood...how?...

Did nothing today during work...haha...except some christmast deco for the office. The rest of time was basically flipping through books and magazines. I really like DnA's mini library...it actually provides more useful reference compared to my uni library. How I wish my workplace in the future can have such ref library too...

HK roaming

Today then I realize digi to digi calls n sms are as usual rates for roaming...the only difference is the receiver will be charged roaming rates for receiving calls...anyway thanks again to Digi's friendly customer consultant...I tried to searched online for roaming rates and returned without any results. Still, Digi customer service is the best! thumbs up!!!

Mission Accomplished

Ha...finally completed my first task in DnA, the SMC model. Still left the surrounding site to be completed tommorrow then the architects will bring it to Sibu for presentation on Friday.

Everything is as usual in work today except that I got the chance to follow one of the architects, Min Yen to site visit. The project is a 3-storeys showroom cum office. The input is quite minimal actually since i've gone through the whole construction process when doing my PET project in my Construction Practices Assignments. The only difference is that the design is much more special compared to normal residential houses, AND!!! the flu and sneezes are still haunting me...haiz...

I've been sneezing for the whole day, actually since last night. Can't quite concentrate in my work as my nose keeps fooling around with me... Anyway, there are 2 new trainees today, both first year students: one from overseas uni and one is my UTM junior. Feel very tired now...getting my rest soon...hopefully tommorrow i'll regain my health =>

Kuching 'trip'...

Today went out for gathering with my coursemates from Penang and Miri, as well as knowing other uni-mates from Quantity Surveyor course(they are close friends). First stop were Wan Num Barbecue Rice shop which is a popular old brand but i've no idea about it...haha... then went to Kuching Waterfront as we wanted to go Fort Margherita. We used the sampan ride across the river to the fort. However we realised that the 'fort' that we headed to is actually Astana. Fort Marg. is on another side...haha... Anyway i got the chance to view the new Sarawak DUN building. I felt that the architecture is quite nice but my friends claimed that it's horrible...herm...What do you think? It's still under construction thou...
After the DUN visit we went to house visits and food visits before me n few other friends left earlier and went back home. I'm so full today, fully-loaded with food and drinks...haha...what a nice day... =>

First day in DesignNetworkArchitect...

just to keep this as memory...

Currently working in Design Network Architect Sdn. Bhd., an architect firm which does interior design and other construction works as well. I just started the work two days ago, my first task is to complete a model for the renovation project of Sibu Municipal Council into Sibu Museum. The architects will be presenting the ideas to those related person next fri. I'm doing it with another trainee called Lee Hui. She is a cute girl thou, haha... currently studying in Victoria University, NZ. She just finished her first year and try to get some learnings from DNA. Another two of my senior coursemates are working there too. One more whom is the one that brings me in will be joining by the end of November. Back to my feelings working there, actually I hoped for some other tasks involving autocad or sketchup or others, especially construction drawings. Since i'll be doing working drawings next sem I really wanted to get some knowledge and examples of what to do and what to take note. Anyway, one more month to go so looking forward to my next task after the model. =>

Maxis Broadband in Kuching!!!

ha...few days back i'm struggling to find a good spot for the maxis braodband server to connect smoothly, finally found it! The difference is just a metre higher! haha... Anyway, thanks to my coursemate who borrowed it to me, will treat him a meal when im back in UTM. =>

Exam Week

few days rest, here comes exam week...anyway I only got 3 subjects to cover whereas other courses have around 5, some even 7!!!lol...maybe this is the retreat after the tense and stressful design assessment...one more week to go then im back home in Kuching!!! Home Sweet Home...but this holiday would be different from the pasts as ill be going for part time work at DNA architect firm...hopefully i can survive the one month period back there...cheers =>

Wow... Just realised I'ven been blogging for the previous month... was busy with assignments and submissions and most important my design assessment. Now i'm here again online and wandering around finding stuff to do. haha...

ready...aim...shoot...!!!

Played archery in Danga Mall this noon, quite fun actually. haha... This is the first time i tried archery. The steps are quite easy, but it does need lots of concentration and arm stamina so that the arrow released really follows the target you aimed. If the bow shakes or the arrow fluctuates during the time you let go of it, the arrow will surely lands somewhere else other than the aim. Anyway i do hope i got the chance to play again!!! Maybe i'll join archery club in uni curricular activities next next sem? hehe...

roller coaster ^^

...busy day today...exam in the morning, assignment presentation during noon time and studio presentation in the evenin...today is indeed a roller coaster ride. The exam was tough as the qs came out of my expectations. What i managed to do is just answer according to what i recall. Then the presentation was normal. As usual, most ppl slept because of the subject. What's interesting was one of my group member did the wrong subtopic! And we even hav qs n ans session. Luckily no one asked bout that issue. Then for my studio presentation...hmm...im quite satisfied with that thou...haha...but as usual AR Rashidi crit about my sketches again...haha...As for dinner i took it together with my church cell group member. That was quite a relaxing time as compared to other churchmates especially the committees...haha...don't know y i got such feeling...

Just cut my fingers' dead skin off as they are getting thicker and thicker caused by my beloved guitar...hehe...and this is the 'freshness' of my new skin layer. Haha...

Wall-e & Eve

Finally, I got to watch wall-e today! This is a splendid animation movie. The whole story doesnt have much dialogue since robot arent suppose to communicate like us. However, the whole storyline is very interesting and understandable with just the emotions and actions. The feel of being in their shoes is very strong even though wall-e is just a waste-managing robot. The whole story is about wall-e doing his daily chores then meeting another robot, Eve then starts the love run as well as mission to save the earth. Two of my friends even dropped heart-touching tears. Haha... Anyway, it is really a nice pixar work. I really like the story. The message is strong: protect our earth and about relationship with our loved ones. My salute to the production team. Everyone should go and experience it!

UTM bus during puasa month

UTM bus night time schedule 6pm, 1015pm, 11pm... Notice the big gap between 6 till 1015? What is this all about?? Just because of buka puasa does not mean they can just cancel everything! Schedule can be changed, shifts can be changed, all sorts of measures can be taken but yet......

i'm back!!!

haiz...internet server at my studio has been down for few weeks and still not fixed...now moved to another location...everything should be back to usual...woohoo!!!

Lastly my course night had passed. The night was ok for me as i'm the committee so felt tired and exhausted. However, it is a happy ending with everything running smoothly. ha...i can rest awhile for now...

wah...finally got the time to write...busy doing the banner stuff for faculty night then busy with studio presentation and now need to prepare for studio submission...haiz...what a tiring life...

busy helping out my coursemate doing the banner for faculty night. 3mX6m is the measurement and that's for the big banner, we have another small one 1mX3m...we printed the outline on A4 paper combining more than 100 sheets becoming one big sheet then cut out the pattern for painting on the banner. Worked till about 2am since 5pm, didn't even ate my dinner. I guess today we will have to continue with the painting. The whole process is tiring but fun yet frustrated...haha...some coursemates from other committee come and helped out including me (from technical department) but some just stand aside playing and joking. This is so irony...

doing assignments in the studio again. In the midst of busy rushing for submission tonight, we make some tea with a new tea set bought by one of my coursemate. Haha...the feel was good when we are enjoying the aromatic tea in the cold studio. cheers my friend...

formal day?...

Monday should be formal day for my university. However, I don't have any class today so i went to studio with casual wear. Along the way there are lots of other students wearing casual wear also. This makes me think of the meaning behind this formal day thingie. Is it really working? Has the uni admin done enough to work this out? Formal or casual wear on Formal Day seems like doesn't matter at all...

seat belts or no?...

...went to Jusco with coursemates just now, while travelling suddenly talked about government's policy of fastening seat belts for car passengers sitting at the back also. So we decided to have some fun and really try fastening them. The feeling was so awkward and we are like little kids. Moreover it's really hard for us to move and if we are carrying stuff with us it would be so troublesome. Then I started thinking is this really necessary and will Malaysia citizens follow? Even for front seaters we can see lots of car users not fastening their seat belts, what to say back sitters? Shouldn't the government come out with a better policy to solve front sitters fastening seatbelt's problem first before coming out with a new policy again?...

studio 24/7

...whole day staying in studio doing assignments for tonight's presentation, hopefully everything goes well. Studio...studio...studio...archi life is startin again...haha...

cinema in dark??

just finished my class talking about lighting, found out something interesting. Why do ppl prefer lights off inside cinema watching movie? that's because we love to feel comfortable watching movie and feel free to express our emotions for any types of movie and others can hardly notice it...

waitin for bus...

woke up early in the morning, felt so boring then walk around my hostel doing discovery...haha...anyway...just finished my co-curricular activities meeting in somewhere far away from my hostel and also my design studio..tiring..tiring..tiring....i wonder why Malaysia can never have a good bus system. The bus stops are always unappropriately situated. i bet everyone agree that this is another reason why Malaysians do not prefer using public transportation.

singapore...

...went to singapore yesterday for a case study regarding my architecture course project. I went along with 3 other workbase-mates. Skip out the study stuff, i'm more depressed by the long queue in customs and traffic jams. I've always been delightful about singapore's custom office but yesterday was a disaster. I've no idea how i got into a counter with an old computer and scanning system. Other lines had finished 3 ppl but mine just 1. It took me an hour in the customs. That's for entering SG. During the way back to JB, traffic jams like hell and we had to alight the bus earlier and walked about 1km to the custom. Some even alighted earlier. I've started travelling from Boon Lay MRT to Kranji to SG custom since 630pm and guess what's the time i get pass SG customs? 930pm!!! the whole journey is only few km and 3hours for that?wow...I went to SG few times and I knew i'll face this situation during office hours and around last trip hours. But the time last night should be normal jams and waits only...haiz...anyway...that's a good experience...haha...
